BT

BT is the UK's former state-owned telecoms incumbent, now BT Group plc, which runs consumer, business and wholesale services and owns the access network operator Openreach.

What is BT?

As the operator with significant market power in many UK wholesale markets, BT, through Openreach, is subject to Ofcom's regulated access obligations such as LLU, VULA (GEA) and duct and pole access. The name "British Telecom" was dropped in 1991.
