Collaborative Robot (Cobot)

A collaborative robot, or cobot, is a robot designed to work in a shared space with people, using built-in safety features instead of full guarding.

What is Collaborative Robot (Cobot)?

Collaboration is a property of the application, not just the robot: ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066 specify modes such as power and force limiting and speed and separation monitoring, and each application needs a risk assessment.

How it works

Torque sensors, limited speeds and rounded designs let the robot stop or reduce force on contact with a person.
