Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT)

Digital terrestrial television is TV broadcast in digital form from ground-based transmitters and received with an ordinary aerial.

What is Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT)?

DTT replaced analogue terrestrial TV in the UK by 2012 and is delivered through the Freeview platform. Because digital signals are compressed, several channels can share one frequency multiplex. Mobile operators are keenly interested in the spectrum DTT uses, and parts of it (such as the 800 MHz and 700 MHz bands) have already been cleared for mobile use.
