A field mountable connector is a fibre connector that an engineer can fit to the end of a drop cable on site without a fusion splicing machine.
What is Field Mountable Connector (FMC)?
FMCs speed up installation because only basic tools are needed. They are commonly used to terminate drop cables at the HTB, though a mechanical connection can lose slightly more signal than a fusion splice.
