IS-IS

IS-IS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System) is a link-state interior routing protocol widely used in large service provider networks.

What is IS-IS?

Like OSPF, each router builds a full map of the network and calculates shortest paths. Many operators prefer IS-IS for its scalability and because it carries IPv4 and IPv6 easily.
