Keplerian Orbital Elements
Keplerian elements are the set of six or seven numbers that describe a satellite's orbit and its position along it.
What is Keplerian Orbital Elements?
Inclination is the tilt of the orbit relative to the equator. Right ascension of the ascending node sets where the orbit crosses the equator going north. Eccentricity describes how elliptical the orbit is. Argument of perigee locates the closest point to Earth. Mean motion (revolutions per day) sets the orbit size, and mean anomaly gives the satellite's position at a reference time (the epoch). The nodal period is the time between successive northward equator crossings.
