Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
PCI DSS is the security standard that any organisation storing, processing or transmitting payment card data must follow.
What is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)?
It is maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council, founded in 2006 by the major card brands (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and JCB). The card brands and acquiring banks, not the council, enforce compliance. Requirements cover network security, encryption, access control, monitoring and testing. The current version is PCI DSS 4.0.
