Release (Rel)
A 3GPP Release is a frozen, numbered set of specifications that defines a stable version of mobile network features.
What is Release (Rel)?
3GPP publishes its work in Releases, such as Release 8 (the first LTE), Release 15 (the first 5G) and later Releases that add further 5G capabilities. Vendors and operators refer to Releases to know which features have been standardised.
