Temperature
Temperature is a setting that controls how random a generative model's output is: low values make it more predictable and higher values make it more varied and creative.
What is Temperature?
A temperature near zero is suited to factual or coding tasks; higher temperatures suit brainstorming. High temperature increases the chance of errors.
How it works
Temperature scales the model's probability distribution over next tokens before one is sampled.
