Test Data
Test data is a set of examples kept completely separate from training and tuning, used to give an independent estimate of how a finished model will perform.
What is Test Data?
Under the EU AI Act, testing data provides an independent evaluation of an AI system to confirm its expected performance before it is placed on the market or put into service. If test data leaks into training, reported accuracy becomes misleadingly high.
How it works
The final model is run once on the test set and its results, such as accuracy or error rate, are reported as the expected real-world performance.
