Voice over LTE (VoLTE)

VoLTE carries voice calls as IP packets over a 4G LTE network, using the IMS core.

Before VoLTE, 4G phones dropped to 2G or 3G for calls (circuit switched fallback). VoLTE is essential as 3G and 2G networks are switched off.
