Wholesale line rental lets a provider rent a telephone line from Openreach and resell it under its own brand, with the customer billed by that provider.
What is Wholesale Line Rental (WLR)?
WLR was the main way rival providers sold home phone lines in the UK. It is being withdrawn as the copper telephone network is switched off and voice moves to digital (IP) services.
