Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP)
Coordinated MultiPoint is a set of techniques in which several cell sites coordinate how they transmit and receive so that users at the edges of cells get better service.
What is Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP)?
Users near the boundary between cells often suffer from weak signals and interference. With CoMP, neighbouring transmission points share information and coordinate scheduling or beamforming, or even transmit to the same device together. This cuts interference and raises throughput at the cell edge.
