Data Labelling
Data labelling, or annotation, is the process of adding labels or tags to raw data, such as marking objects in images, so it can be used to train or evaluate AI models.
What is Data Labelling?
Labelling is often done by large outsourced workforces and increasingly with AI assistance. Clear guidelines and quality checks are essential, and the EU AI Act lists annotation and labelling among data preparation steps for high-risk systems.
How it works
Annotators follow instructions to tag examples, and samples are double-checked to measure agreement and accuracy.
