Supervised Learning

Supervised learning is machine learning in which a model is trained on examples that are paired with the correct answers (labels), so it learns to predict the label for new inputs.

What is Supervised Learning?

Examples include learning to recognise spam from emails marked spam or not spam, or to predict house prices from past sales. Supervised learning is the most widely deployed form of machine learning in business, but it depends on large amounts of accurately labelled data.

How it works

The model makes a prediction for each training example, a loss function measures how far it is from the label, and the model's parameters are adjusted to reduce that loss.
