Classification (Machine Learning)

Classification is a machine learning task in which a model assigns each input to one of a set of categories, such as fraud or not fraud.

What is Classification (Machine Learning)?

Binary classification has two classes; multi-class has more. Classifiers usually output probabilities, and a threshold turns these into decisions, which lets operators trade false positives against false negatives.

How it works

A model is trained on labelled examples of each class and then predicts the most likely class for new inputs.
