Equivalence of Inputs and Outputs (EoI and EoO)
Equivalence of inputs means a dominant operator supplies wholesale products to rivals exactly as it does to its own retail arm; equivalence of outputs means the products are comparable in function and price but may be delivered by different processes.
What is Equivalence of Inputs and Outputs (EoI and EoO)?
EoI, the stricter standard, was introduced in the UK through BT's 2005 undertakings, which created Openreach: the same products, on the same timescales, terms, prices and systems, for all providers including BT. EoO is a lighter obligation widely used in the EU.
