Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Fibre to the premises is an access network in which fibre runs all the way from the exchange to the customer's home or business, replacing copper entirely.

What is Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)?

FTTP is often called "full fibre" in the UK. It can be built with a dedicated fibre per premises (point-to-point) or with shared infrastructure such as GPON. FTTP supports gigabit speeds and above, and is the technology behind the UK's gigabit broadband targets.
