Impulse Noise Protection (INP)
Impulse noise protection is the set of techniques that stop short bursts of electrical noise from corrupting DSL data.
What is Impulse Noise Protection (INP)?
Classic INP uses interleaving, which spreads data over time so that errors can be corrected by FEC, at the cost of extra delay. G.INP (ITU-T G.998.4) instead retransmits corrupted data, giving protection with lower latency.
