ITU ICT Indicators
ITU ICT indicators are the standard statistics countries report on telecoms and internet access, such as subscriptions, coverage and traffic, defined by the ITU's Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI).
What is ITU ICT Indicators?
Key indicators include mobile-cellular subscriptions (excluding data-only cards and M2M), fixed-telephone subscriptions, fixed-broadband subscriptions at 256 kbit/s or more (broken down by speed), active mobile-broadband subscriptions, population covered by 2G, 3G and 4G networks, international internet bandwidth, and bundled service subscriptions. Most are expressed per 100 inhabitants. Coverage should be calculated from geolocated network data overlaid on population maps. The indicators feed the ICT Development Index (IDI), which ranks countries' digital development.
