Label Switched Path (LSP)

A label switched path is the route that packets of a given forwarding equivalence class follow through an MPLS network, from ingress to egress router.

What is Label Switched Path (LSP)?

LSPs are set up by signalling protocols such as LDP or RSVP-TE and are one-directional. Traffic-engineered LSPs can be steered away from the shortest path to balance load or guarantee bandwidth.
