MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP)
LDP is the protocol MPLS routers use to tell their neighbours which labels to use for each destination, building label switched paths automatically.
What is MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP)?
LDP follows the routes chosen by the IGP, so paths match the shortest IP route; for traffic engineering, RSVP-TE or segment routing are used instead.
