Mobile Network Operator (MNO)

A mobile network operator is a company that holds the radio spectrum and runs the network infrastructure needed to provide mobile services.

What is Mobile Network Operator (MNO)?

MNOs hold spectrum licences and run their own radio access and core networks. In the UK the main MNOs are EE (part of BT), VodafoneThree and Virgin Media O2. MNOs may also sell wholesale access to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), which offer services without a radio network of their own.
