Model Context Protocol

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard, introduced by Anthropic in 2024, for connecting AI applications to external tools and data sources in a consistent way.

What is Model Context Protocol?

Instead of building a custom integration for each tool, developers expose a service once as an MCP server that any compatible AI application can use. It has been widely adopted across the industry.

How it works

An AI application acts as a client that discovers and calls tools, resources and prompts offered by MCP servers.
