Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD)

Multicast Listener Discovery is the IPv6 protocol that devices use to tell routers which multicast streams they want to receive.

MLD does the same job for IPv6 that IGMP does for IPv4. Devices report which multicast addresses they are interested in, so routers forward streams only where they are wanted.
