Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS)
MBMS is the 3GPP service for broadcasting or multicasting the same content to many mobile devices at once.
What is Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS)?
MBMS was first specified for 3G and later enhanced for LTE as eMBMS. One transmission can reach many users, which is more efficient than separate streams for popular live content, public warnings or software updates.
