Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS)
eMBMS is the LTE version of 3GPP's broadcast and multicast service, which sends the same content to many devices at once.
What is Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS)?
eMBMS brought MBMS to 4G LTE. An operator can use it to broadcast content such as live video or software updates over shared radio resources, rather than sending a separate stream to each user. It is often delivered using MBSFN, in which several cells transmit the same signal in step.
