Peering

Peering is an arrangement in which two networks exchange traffic directly between their own users, usually without payment.

What is Peering?

Peering can be private, over a direct link (a private network interconnect, PNI), or public, across an internet exchange. Multilateral peering lets one network peer with many others through an exchange's route server. When a relationship no longer suits one side, for example because of unbalanced traffic ratios, the networks may end it, a process sometimes called "depeering".
