Subnetwork

A subnetwork, or subnet, is a logical division of an IP network, defined by a routing prefix that all its addresses share.

What is Subnetwork?

A prefix such as 192.0.2.0/24 means the first 24 bits identify the network and the remaining bits identify hosts. Routers forward traffic using these prefixes, and BGP announces them between networks.
