Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)
ADSL is a DSL technology that delivers broadband over ordinary copper phone lines, with faster download than upload speeds.
What is Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)?
ADSL works from equipment in the telephone exchange. Basic ADSL offers up to 8 Mbit/s download; ADSL2+ raises this to up to 24 Mbit/s. Real speeds fall sharply with line length. ADSL was the main UK broadband technology in the 2000s but is being phased out as copper is retired.
