Centralised Unit Control Plane (CU-CP)

The CU-CP is the control-plane part of a 5G Centralised Unit, hosting radio resource control and the signalling side of the PDCP layer.

What is Centralised Unit Control Plane (CU-CP)?

When the Centralised Unit is split, the CU-CP handles signalling. It runs RRC, manages connections and mobility, and controls one or more CU-UP instances over the E1 interface. "CU-C" is an informal short form of the same term.
