Content Delivery Network (CDN)

A content delivery network is a distributed system of servers that stores copies of web content close to users so that it loads faster.

What is Content Delivery Network (CDN)?

Instead of every request travelling to the origin server, a CDN serves cached copies from a nearby location, often inside or next to ISP networks. This reduces latency, saves backbone capacity and absorbs traffic spikes. Proxy caching applies the same principle within a single network.
