Control Plane (CP)
The control plane is the part of a network that carries the signalling used to set up, manage and end connections, as opposed to users' own data.
What is Control Plane (CP)?
Telecoms systems keep the messages that run the network (such as attach, handover and session set-up) apart from the traffic carried for users. The control plane carries those messages. Separating the two lets operators scale signalling and data handling independently and put them in different places.
