Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)

A convolutional neural network is a deep learning model designed for grid-like data such as images, using small sliding filters to detect local patterns like edges and shapes.

What is Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)?

Early layers detect simple features and deeper layers combine them into complex objects. CNNs transformed computer vision in the 2010s and are used in medical imaging, autonomous vehicles, drones and face recognition, though transformers now compete with them.

How it works

Convolution layers slide learned filters across the image, pooling layers shrink the representation, and final layers produce the classification or detection.
