Computer Vision
Computer vision is the field of AI that enables machines to interpret images and video, for example recognising objects, faces, text or movement.
What is Computer Vision?
It is used in medical imaging, manufacturing inspection, autonomous vehicles, drones and security cameras. Face-based uses raise privacy and discrimination concerns and are tightly restricted under the EU AI Act.
How it works
Models, usually CNNs or vision transformers, learn visual features from labelled images and apply them to classify, detect or segment new images.
