Direct internet access is a dedicated business internet connection delivered over a leased line, with uncontended bandwidth and equal upload and download speeds.
What is Direct Internet Access (DIA)?
Unlike mass-market broadband, where many users share capacity, DIA gives the customer a fixed amount of bandwidth reserved for them, often from 10 Mbit/s up to 10 Gbit/s, backed by a service level agreement. Wholesale providers sell DIA to resellers, who offer it under their own brand; one UK wholesale provider also calls it "Wholesale Ethernet Internet".
