Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC)
An eUICC is the secure chip inside an eSIM device that can hold several operator profiles and have new ones downloaded over the air.
What is Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC)?
The eUICC replaces the removable plastic SIM card with a soldered or integrated chip. Each operator subscription is stored as a separate profile, and users can switch providers without changing hardware. The GSMA's Remote SIM Provisioning specifications, such as SGP.21/SGP.22 for consumer devices and SGP.31/SGP.32 for IoT, define how profiles are delivered and managed.
