Local Profile Assistant (LPA)
The Local Profile Assistant is the software on an eSIM device that downloads profiles and lets the user manage them.
What is Local Profile Assistant (LPA)?
The LPA has three parts: Local Profile Download (LPD), which fetches profiles from the SM-DP+; Local Discovery Service (LDS), which queries discovery servers; and Local User Interface (LUI), which lets the user add, switch or delete profiles. The suffix "d" means the function runs in the device (LPAd), and "e" means it runs inside the eUICC itself (LPAe).
