Media Gateway (MGW)
A media gateway converts voice and media streams between different network types, such as legacy TDM circuits and IP packet networks.
What is Media Gateway (MGW)?
Media gateways are controlled by softswitches or IMS elements. They allow calls to pass between the old circuit-switched network and IP-based networks.
