Network Sharing (MORAN, MOCN and GWCN)

Mobile network sharing arrangements let operators share radio and core equipment; MORAN, MOCN and GWCN describe how much is shared.

What is Network Sharing (MORAN, MOCN and GWCN)?

In MORAN (multi-operator radio access network), operators share sites and radio equipment but each uses its own spectrum. In MOCN (multi-operator core network) they also share spectrum, with each connecting its own core. In GWCN (gateway core network) parts of the core are shared too. Iu-Flex allows one radio controller to connect to several core nodes, supporting these models.
