Optical Splitter Frame (OSF)

An optical splitter frame is a rack-mounted unit that holds optical splitters in modules, with a patch panel for their input and output connections.

What is Optical Splitter Frame (OSF)?

Where splitting is done centrally, for example next to the OLT in the exchange, splitters are mounted in an OSF. Modules can be added as demand grows, and the patch panel lets technicians connect splitter ports to OLT ports and feeder fibres.
