Quality of Service (QoS)
Quality of service is the measured performance of a network service, and the methods used to prioritise traffic to achieve it.
What is Quality of Service (QoS)?
QoS covers measures such as throughput, delay (latency), variation in delay (jitter) and packet loss. Networks use QoS mechanisms to give time-sensitive traffic, such as voice, priority over less sensitive traffic. Regulators may also publish or require QoS measures to protect consumers.
