Recursive Self-Improvement

Recursive self-improvement is the process by which an AI system improves its own algorithms, code or training, with each version better able to improve the next.

What is Recursive Self-Improvement?

It is the proposed mechanism behind an intelligence explosion. Today AI already assists AI research, for example in writing code and designing chips, and automated AI R&D is a capability frontier labs evaluate.

How it works

The AI modifies its architecture, training process or tools, evaluates results and keeps improvements, repeatedly.
