5th Generation (5G)
5G is the fifth generation of mobile network technology, designed to deliver faster data, lower latency and support for very large numbers of connected devices.
What is 5th Generation (5G)?
5G succeeds 4G LTE and is defined by 3GPP from Release 15 onwards. It introduces a new radio interface (New Radio, NR) and a new service-based core network (5GC). It is built around three broad usage scenarios: enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low-latency communications and massive machine-type communications for the Internet of Things.
