Channel Quality Indicator (CQI)

The Channel Quality Indicator is a value reported by a mobile device that tells the base station how good its downlink radio conditions are.

What is Channel Quality Indicator (CQI)?

A device measures the signal it receives and reports a CQI value, usually as part of its wider Channel State Information. The base station uses the report to choose a modulation and coding scheme, sending data faster to devices in good conditions and more robustly to those in poor conditions.
