FTTH Cabinet

An FTTH cabinet is a protective enclosure, usually at the roadside, that houses and organises the fibre connections, splices and splitters of a fibre-to-the-home network.

What is an FTTH cabinet?

FTTH cabinets protect critical junctions in the fibre network from weather, dust, accidental damage and vandalism. They are usually built to the operator's specification and suited to their location. The same kind of enclosure can serve as an FDT or FDH holding the first-level splitters, or as a smaller distribution point. Cabinets are used in urban full-fibre roll-outs, rural broadband projects, CCTV and cable TV networks, and to support 5G small cells.
