Optical Distribution Box (ODB)

An optical distribution box is an enclosure in a block of flats that distributes fibres to individual dwellings without its own splitters, relying instead on splitters at the FDT.

What is Optical Distribution Box (ODB)?

ODBs are used in lower-density multi-dwelling buildings. Typical capacities are 12, 24, 48 or 96 fibres. Each dwelling's drop is connected through the box to a fibre that leads back to a splitter in the street cabinet.
